Protect yourself first

Webcam Model Safety and Privacy

Keep your cam identity separate, protect your location and stay in control of your shows.

Assume a live show can be recorded

Platform rules may prohibit recording, but a viewer can still capture a screen. Only show what you can accept existing outside the room. Geographic blocking can reduce local discovery, but it cannot promise that nobody nearby will see you.

Separate work from personal life

Clean the camera frame

Check windows, mirrors, framed photographs, shipping labels, mail, medication bottles, school or work logos and anything that shows the layout outside your room. Wear headphones during private audio if another person could be heard in the background.

Control who enters the room

No child or person who is not approved on the account should be able to walk into the broadcasting space. Lock the door when appropriate and tell other adults not to interrupt. A partner or guest must be at least 18 and approved by the platform before appearing, even briefly.

Keep payment on the platform

A viewer offering a larger payment away from the platform can also be trying to reverse a transfer, collect personal details or move you away from moderation tools. Payment apps and public wishlists can expose a legal name, email address, shipping location or social profile. Test what a viewer can see before sharing any account. Do not share banking credentials, identification or account recovery codes with viewers. Platform staff should not ask for a password in chat.

Lock down account recovery

Enforce your boundaries

Put your limits in writing before a show. Block viewers who threaten, identify, blackmail or repeatedly pressure you. Save the username, time and screenshots when reporting serious behavior, but do not continue arguing with the person.

Respond to stalking, doxxing or sextortion

Do not pay a threat or send more material in an attempt to make it stop. Preserve the username, profile URL, messages, payment requests, dates and screenshots before blocking the account. Report the conduct through the platform and keep copies of case numbers. If someone threatens immediate physical harm or appears to know your location, contact local emergency services or a qualified local support organization.

Plan for copied or leaked content

Save the exact page URL and capture enough of the page to identify the host and account. Use the platform's reporting process and, when appropriate, its copyright or DMCA procedure. StopNCII.org can create a digital fingerprint of an intimate image or video on your device and share the fingerprint with participating platforms. The file itself stays on your device, but the tool does not cover the entire internet.

Every appearance requires sober, informed consent

Every person shown or heard must be at least 18, approved on the account and freely willing to take part. Do not stream when someone is asleep, impaired, unable to understand the recording or under pressure from a partner, studio or viewer. Agree on boundaries and payment before a joint show, and stop when consent is withdrawn.

Protect your health as part of the job

Schedule breaks, water, meals and days away from the room. Repeated harassment, isolation and pressure to stay online can affect judgment and mental health. Pineapple Support offers free or low-cost, adult-industry-aware therapy and support for eligible workers. For sexual health questions, use a qualified clinician or a reliable local clinic rather than viewer advice.

Choose a cam site

Once your work accounts and room are ready, compare how the three main platforms operate.
